During this session we began looking at key products and tools that would be beneficial when building up your kit. Michelle put together some slides that we looked through and made notes off of, taking down relevant products that I felt would benefit me the most when adding to my kit.
these include-
- tinted brow gels (MUA brand)
*gives a natural look to the brows, this is relevant when creating no makeup' makeups and male makeup for tv and film
my kit bag:

- gel liner (INGLOT) brown and black
* long lasting and recommended by industry professionals
- invest in powders + cream palettes, blush and contour colour ways
*inclusivity and allows you to experiment with a range of product types- ALSO is more compact and easier to pack into your kit
- highlighters, liquid and powder
- lip-gloss, clear and frosted
*trendy at the moment, good for shine and finishing- can even be used on the eyes
- water 'mist' Evian or alternatives
*to refresh the face after skin prep, or to revive the makeup during a longer shoot

- spray hand gel (boots)
*more convenient than a squeezy tube, less likely to leak into your kit
hand cream
*helpful if a actor has dry knees, elbows or hands that are going to be seen close up or exposed in general on camera- easy to grab
- revolution loose powder (ben Nye dupe)
- silicone primer (the ordinary)
hair tools/products:
- Denman brushes, padded and stiff
- range of different combs
- invest in mini products- easier to transport and access, hairsprays, oils, dry shampoos etc
- student hair dressing scissors

TOP TIP: include a extension lead in your kit- not all plug sockets will be accessible to you, and you may need to use heated tools on set.
blotting paper is handy to have in your set bag!
a panel or mini ring light are great for transporting lighting with you.
