After looking at skin prep and colour theory, we moved onto discussing foundation and colour matching. Michelle used Kayla as a model for this exercise.
for this demo on Kayla we all chose a shade from the Mehron foundation palette that we thought from a glance would match her skin.

Michelle swatched the shades we chose on Kayla's face to show us how different colours work best in different spots, for example her forehead was a lighter shade than her cheek and undereye area.
Michelle showed us how she would do Kayla's base:

1) apply a lighter shade under the eye to brighten and "enhance and emulate" the face
2) use a range or darker shades with the same yellow undertone on the rest of the face, working in sections to find the best colour match.
TOP TIP: not one shade will work on the whole face. "pick and mix" colours depending on the area on the face.
following this we did our own practice base on half of our models face. below is my set up, and a example image of my colour match and application on Rhiannon.

I used a combination of different Rimmel and revolution foundations and concealers to get to Rhiannon's perfect shade.
