in this session we looked at creating and planning a natural makeup look for tv and film. we started off by listing and brainstorming different natural makeup characters from tv programmes and films that we knew of- for example Rory Gilmore, Barbie from the barbie movie, Hermione granger etc. we then chose a character that we wanted to create a look inspired by, and made a mind map of the characteristics that they possess in there makeup.

I chose Hermione Granger as I am a very big Harry Potter fan, and I was able to find clear and good quality images of her makeup throughout her time on the movies. I liked how her makeup stays neutral the whole time, with changes only occurring when she is seen as "dressed up" for example the ball and the wedding.
after planning out my mind map, I moved onto creating a design sheet and mood board as a reference for the look I was moving onto
creating.

I used very minimal products to create this look, as it is very natural and I wanted to keep it as accurate to my character as possible.

1) use cotton pads and micellar water to remove excess dirt and makeup from the face.
2) apply a toner to the oily areas of her forehead
3) apply a moisturiser to the rest of her face that is more dry in texture
4) let this set into the face before beginning foundation
5) apply a colour correcting concealer to the red areas on her face to even out her skin tone and create an even base
6) I used a pink toned light shade of the Revolution IRL foundation on Rihanna's face, on a buffing brush, and a triangle sponge to get into every corner and crevasse of her face.
7) Apply a spritz of dewy setting spray to melt this into the face
8) I then applied a lighter shade of concealer under her eyes and any other dark spots to brighten her face

9) apply a pressed powder only under her eyes and on any shiny areas to prevent creasing or reflection on camera
10) I filled and boldened her brows using a pomade and an angled brush, as Hermione's are quite dark in comparison to her hair.
11) apply a peachy blush to the contours of her cheeks for a youthful appearance
12) run a mid brown shade through the eye crease on a fluffy brush to add tone and diffuse any over pigmentation
13) add mascara lightly, I only wanted to darken the lashes without lengthening or thickening them.
14) I applied a light nude shade with my finger to diffuse the pigment and give a natural appearance!
